Sunset Blush
A sweet Scuppernong blush, refreshing with just the right amount of attitude.
Taste
Sunset Blush is a sweet, fruity Scuppernong blush blend with rich flavor and just the right amount of attitude. The unmistakable taste of ripe Muscadines comes through first, followed by subtle notes reminiscent of strawberry, cherry, and watermelon. Sweet and smooth on the palate, enough acidity and a touch of tartness keep it lively, leading into a lingering fruity finish.
There’s something nostalgic about this wine, like eating ripe Scuppernongs straight from the vine on a late-summer day. Take your time with this one. With small, slow sips, the sweetness can become less pronounced as your palate adjusts, allowing more of the wine’s flavor to shine through.
Pairings
Dessert is where this wine feels right at home. Try it with cheesecake, especially something a little tart, like raspberry cheesecake. The wine makes the dessert taste wonderfully rich and creamy. Black Forest cake and milk chocolate are delicious companions. Also try it poured over raspberry sorbet/rainbow sherbet to make a refreshing "wine float"!
When pairing a sweet wine with dessert, a little goes a long way. The wine should be at least as sweet as what’s on the plate, so take small sips rather than overwhelming your palate with sweetness all at once. A small pour can easily carry you through an entire dessert.
Serving
Best served chilled and sipped slowly. Sunset Blush is the kind of wine made for late summer in the South: a cold glass on the porch, an evening by the pool, or sitting around the fire as the sun goes down. Grab a good book, find a comfortable chair, and sip awhile.
As a sweeter wine, smaller sips allow its flavors to unfold without overwhelming your palate. Enjoy it young and fresh, and refrigerate the bottle after opening.
