Most RV owners use their rigs for weekend get-a-ways or vacations during the warmer months of the year.  Snowbirds or full time RVers on the other hand, travel even in winter months and want to keep warm and comfortable regardless of the weather outside.   So, here are some tips to keep you cozy... even in January.   Use shrink film on the inside of your windows to make them airtight and to keep out the drafts.  When winter is over the shrink wrap is easy to remove and can simply be peeled off and thrown away.  Another way the cold air sneaks in an RV is through the roof  vents or compartments that open into the inside of the rig.  The same shrink wrap can be used on the vents or there is also the option of filling in the space with a small pillow or even fiberglass insulation. Compartments need to have good weather seals.  Openings under the rigs where various lines enter can be filled with foam rubber or an aerolsol self-expanding foam as well to ensure you stay nice and toasty and eleminate drafts.  Finally, your entry door will seal tighter with a foam tape or weatherstrip added to it.  Using these tips can ensure you enjoy your camping experience regardless of the time of year you are on the road! Happy Trails!
